On the 1st May 2012, Scoil Íde celebrated its 60th birthday.The Sisters of Jesus and Mary opened the first National school in Salthill in the Dalysfort House Hotel on Ardnamara. The Parents’ Association commissioned a new school sign which now graces the back gate. 2012 also marks the centenary of the coming of the Jesus and Mary Sisters to Ireland. A special Mass was held in Salthill Church on Wednesday 16th May. Scoil Íde’s Centenary Library was opened on 1st May to mark this special anniversary.
